Community Engagement
Thank you to everyone who helped support Minnesota Point 50’s presence at 2026 St. Louis River Summit held in March. Our booth featured a community reflection wall titled “Love Letters to Minnesota Point,” inviting community members to share personal messages, memories and hopes through handwritten Post-it notes.
The response was thoughtful and heartfelt. Below are a few reflections participants shared:
Love Letters to Minnesota Point
- “Walking the dunes.”
- “I love the Park Point pine trees.”
- “As Bart Sutter writes in Cold Comfort: Life on Top of the Map, Minnesota Point has the longest sand beach in Minnesota.”
- “I love watching my dog run and play on the beach.”
- “Minnesota Point is my home.”
- “Park Point is magical.”
- “Easy access to the waterfront.”
- “I could swim all day here with my dogs.”
- “What a magical place! When the weather is right I always try to take a dip on my way.”
- “Home from work! Such a precious and valuable reset.”
- “The sand, the dune grass, the quiet sanctuary of giant white pine.”
- “A place that consistently brings me and my family joy for over a century.”
- “I love swimming!”
- “Minnesota Point is my sanctuary.”
- “Love being on or near the water at sunset.”
- “Cool to come to all seasons – lake and the bay.”
It was powerful to see how deeply people value Minnesota Point—not just as a place, but as a sanctuary, home and source of joy.
