Minnesota Point: Diverse, Inclusive, Enduring

Minnesota Point shelters us. Let’s safeguard it.

Minnesota Point, a national treasure, is eroding before our eyes. We are on the brink of losing this environmentally sensitive sandbar, its unique cultural history, and Park Point’s diverse community. Minnesota Point 50 is the community-led endeavor to ensure its resilience. Donate today and become a Minnesota Point Steward.

A resilient Minnesota Point is the Point!

Minnesota Point 50 works to ensure…

  • A healthy, productive harbor that sustains the jobs and industries reliant on it
  • A thriving natural environment, providing sanctuary for a mosaic of ecosystems, plants and animals
  • An inclusive, cohesive and vibrant neighborhood
  • Equal and safe access for all to enjoy to this unique stretch of public land
  • A throughline that connects Minnesota Point’s significant history to our current community and generations to come

Long-term resilience is possible. But it depends on all of us.

We’ve built an advanced learning model, thanks to a collaborative effort from the City of Duluth, the Army Corps of Engineers, and a board of experts. The aim is to educate, implement, and enhance the resilience of this wonderful place.

“If we don’t come together when thinking about climate change, development, and other issues, we’re going to lose Minnesota Point entirely in the near future.”
